Value Engineering
Our in-house geotechnical engineers collaborate directly with developers, structural engineers, and geotechnical consultants to value engineer support of excavation, foundations, and ground improvement systems. We don’t just build what’s drawn, we help optimize it for constructability, cost, and schedule.
Advanced Fleet
We continuously invest in advanced drilling technology and maintain one of the most extensive fleets in the industry. Our rigs provide real-time drilling data, allowing operators and engineers to monitor installation parameters including depth, torque, crowd pressure, penetration rates, and grout volumes, increasing quality and productivity.
FULL-SERVICE
As a full-service foundation contractor, we self-perform every phase of foundation construction, providing a streamlined approach from initial excavation through final concrete placement. Our capabilities span excavation and support of excavation (SOE), deep foundations, ground improvement, and cast-in-place concrete, allowing us to manage complex foundation scopes under one team.
Schedule
We understand that foundations and SOE systems sit on the critical path. Our mission is simple: provide innovative yet practical systems, and deliver them on schedule. Through production planning, fleet redundancy, and field-experienced leadership, we protect timelines and minimize disruption to downstream trades.
Quality Assurance
Each drilled element is digitally logged, recording start/stop times, diameter, length, pump strokes, theoretical vs. actual grout volumes, and installation pressures.
During testing phases, we deploy advanced verification methods including: Thermal Integrity Profiling (TIP) for uncased elements, Instrumented load testing with strain gauges and tell-tales, In-situ grout sampling and calibration, and Laboratory testing for permeability, compressive strength, and modulus
Our soil mixing programs are supported by site-specific lab testing and production sampling to confirm performance criteria are met.
Local Expertise
As the largest foundation contractor in the New York City Metropolitan Area and expanding up and down the East Coast, ECD brings the manpower, fleet depth, and operational infrastructure to handle high-demand, high-visibility projects. From engineers and project managers to operators and machinists, ECD self-performs the critical aspects of our work.
